Hello Experts

Can not search in public folders and the performance for sending and receiving mails is extremely slow, i have no problem with the search function if i do it on my own outlook mailbox.

we have one very big public folder there is about 50GB i think it is that folder there are slowing the system, but i am not sure.

I have looked everywhere in event viewer and the services for the server but no help there

We have a frontend server to route and send the mails, nothing that indicate that thereis something wrong

My exchange server is placed in a cluster

any idears

Running eseutil /d to defrag your databases may improve the overall performance...don't suppose your drive is getting full on the server?

i get this error message in the event viewer

Could this have anything to do with it?

Error 0x6bb deleting unused restricted view from folder 1-13D6EAA on database "First Storage Group\Public Folder Store (GOUDA-EXCH)". Microsoft Exchange Information Store will try to delete the view again at the next maintenance interval.

I wouldn't recommend running eseutil on a clustered Exchange database system. It will not make any difference.

Searching content of that size will be slow. There isn't much you can do about it.
If the clients are not in cached mode then you could look at using full text indexing. If it is a folder that needs to be searched regularly then you might want to look at some kind of search technology for the folders.

Entire email system being slow is very different to one function of Exchange being slow.
If you entire email system is slow then I would suggest that you start with the troubleshooting tool from Microsoft. http://exbpa.com/
You may have a faulty hard disk.
