Exchange 07 not receiving "external emails" from 03 server -

HARDWARE:

IRON PORT c150
Exchange server 03 on 03 server
Exchange server 07 on 08 server
BlackBerry Enterprise as well 03 server

I have been in the procces of setting up our move to exchange 07 from 03.. after working out some free busy / public folder  issues with my test accounts.. and thinking all was stable.. i decided to move my mailbox..  moved fine.. no issues can send / recieve internal emails , can send receive brom my BB, BUT i find my self suddenly not recieving external emails... I am 99% sure i tested this with my test accounts that where built on the 07 server, moved to the 03 server and moved back to 07... I am really not sure where to start on this one.. i did check the the receive groups and the last tab is all check expcept the bottom one.. not sure where to start looking next as i am a bit confused.. ...

I also notice i am not getting my internal "alert emails" , form : system center, backup exec, or my sharepoint emails... to my box.... but i do get internal from users on both boxes...

I also added antother received connector and still none...

notes:
there are 2 SMTP conectors on the 03 box,
Defualt
Iron port

The mail coming in seems to be sitting in the ironport smtp connector.. almost like it doesnt know how to resolve my name back to mail box on the 07 server.... I am 99% sure i need to change the setting in the attached picture... either to all local or add the other smtp...

Are you receiving external mails to Ex2003 mailboxes?
Check this link...

almost but..

I have 2 smtp's on my 03 server... default & ironport

I can send receiver from 03 to 07, i can receive external on my 03 boxes... but what is happening is the ironport smtp cant find my mailbox on the 07 server so the emails are stuck in Q on the 03 server..

I need to know how to set up a connector for that smtp service... to go to the 07 box like there is one for the default... on the 03 box... until we finish up the migration..

I don't think a SMTP connector to exchange 2007 is required for mail flow. Do you have a smart host configured for SMTP VS?
yes there is a smart host configured but not on the default ...it is its own called IRON PORT... If i take it out than mail will not flow through the ironport..

I added an mx record to dns for the new exchange server and gave it a cost of 20.. the 03 box is set at 10..... I am getting external mail now but there is a delay of anywhere from 30-45minutes... its very odd...
I think removing smart host configuration from SMTP VS will resolve this issue.. internal MX record of Exchange 2007 not at all required for the mail flow...For Internet mail flow.. You can create SMTP Connector with name space "*" to send mail to Iron port IP...Please try it..
I think its resolved... i added the ips to the rec connectors on the 07 box and there is no delay now.... i also changed the cost on the mx record from 20 to 10.....and restarted the transport service.. not totally sure what fixed it but i get the external email with out delay....
Can you attach Get-RoutingGroupConnector | FL command result?
attached.. let me know if you see anything odd ...

I think i have redundant conenctors Interop & server03-server07.. not sure if i should delete one or not.. also what should the cost be?
