Hi,

I have all the documentation and a good idea of how to configure OCS 2007 R2 for internal Access, but not really sure of setting things up for external access?

I see a lot of horror stories out there on setting it up for external access...a

Any ideas?

Hi,

External access is not that hard, if you need your users to connect to the OCS Server from outside the network, you need the following:
1- Access EDGE Server that is configured with a public IP Address or published with a firewall
2 - Configuring the Access EDGE to route the traffic to the internal OCS Servers
3 - Configure the Internal Servers to route traffic through the EDGE Server.
4 - Create an SRV record on the Public DNS Servers to route the clients automatically to the Access EDGE Server IP Address based on your SIP Configuration (TCP or TLS)
the following link will help you with the entire enterprise installation (it consists of 6 parts):

Hi,

Thanks for your help! Can I follow the same instructions on that link if Im installing OCS Standard edition instead of Enterprise?

Hi,
no, since you know how to configure the internal OCS Settings, use the following document to install the EDGE server and to configure your server to route the traffic (this should solve your problem, right ? :))
From page 17 till page 90 is the butter of the document and should work out for you :)
