HSRP

Let's say that we have two Cisco switches 3750 and six 2900 and I have to configure three VLANs. What configuration should I implement to achive full redandancy at Layer 2 and also at Layer 3.

Hi,

L2 redundancy:

- You connect two 3750 wirh stack cable to make a cluster
- All other switches connect two ports to 3750_1 and 3750_2
- All switches uplink ports configured to Etherchannel, so the uplink will be 2G

L3 redundancy

- You connect two 3750 wirh stack cable to make a cluster

Best regards,
Istvan

Istvan thanks a lot. What is the advantange\disadvantage of having clustring at L3 over HSRP (active/passive)?

If you clustering the 2 3750 switch will be only one switch!
If your server has 2 NIC you able to make Full redundancy!
In this case better way to clustering, becouse the s swtches able to see each other wirh 32Gps!

Ikalmar. Thank you. I don't have much experience configuring switches so let me ask you one more question. If I configure switch-1 at L3 as active and switch-2 at L3 as passive using HSRP, would this configuration be regarded as clustering?
