Hi to all experts,

We have India's leading B2B portals www.jimtrade.com and online Indian Encyclopedia www.indianetzone.com as well as one yellow pages portal www.jimyellowpages.com

This 3 major domain we have kept only on one server. Also this server is running 3 major services like mail, web, and SQL server. Now we are getting huge traffic on every domain and accordingly there is load on the SQL server and web server service.

Now the question is that how to manage all services and load on the server?
We don't know in server management but I heard many about 'load balancing technology and Virtual Private Server (VPS), so how to manage this technology. Can we put this 3 service (SQL, web and mail) on different server. If yes then will it beneficial to us.
Also we are thinking economically about server management so which method will give high performance with less of cost?

Could any body tell me the better solution for server load management?

Now I have one dedicated windows server with following configuration.
Intel Pentium 4 2.8 GHz
4 GB DDR2 RAM
1,500 GB band width.

Regards,
Tushar Ghodake

Hi

That's incredible.  One server.  You probably need to go through some Web server sizing algorithms to calculate the right mix for your traffic.  Have you checked out your web site statistics at Alexa.com.  If you haven't, start there for some great comparisons.

Also, here's a solution found here at EE on the question of server sizing.  And I'm sure there are many others to look at while waiting for expert responses.

This sure sound like a great project.
