Assigning "Outline Numbered" to Word 2007 Styles

jdana used Ask the Experts™
Using Word 2007, I created a new Style Set based on a Word 2003 Style Set.  All styles in the 2003 Word Style Set were "Outline Numbered" and the numbering worked.  Somehow, in the process of creating the new 2007 Style Set, some of the styles lost their "Outline Numbered" property, and the numbering is partially broken.

Take a look at the example below (Image 1).  The red text shows the problem styles.  The Heading 5 numbering isn't restarting because "Heading 4" is not Outline Numbered ("Heading 4" Image).  Similarly, "Heading 4" numbering isn't restarting because "Heading 3" is not Outline Numbered ("Heading 3" Image).

In contrast, take a look at the green text in Image 1.  Here, the numbering correctly restarted because Heading 5 is Outline Numbered and Heading 6 is Outline Numbered.  (See "Heading 5" image and "Heading 6" image.)

So, how do I assign "Outline Numbered" to Headings 1 through 4?  It was easy with Word 2003.  It aint easy with Word 2007.

Microsoft seems to have chucked the "Outine Numbered" construct with Word 2007.  It's understandable, the relationship between and outline level and and style was convoluted.  Once Style Set was set up properly, however, it worked without fail and was easy to use.  Xcone, I solved the problem by reconfiguring the Style Set using Word 2003 then importing it into 2007.  Thanks for the advice.
