Exchange Server 2003 Mailbox Management Report Shows as "Untiled Attachment"

I have a site where the Mailbox Management Report when sent by email to the exch admin Shows the attachment as "Untiled Attachment". The attachment is ok, it can be opened by any text editor and contains the correct data, but it should be "report.txt".

Any suggestions?

I didn't think you could change this name, can you see it properly in another client?

What client are you using?

Actually there are several servers on the same root domain connected thru VPN. All servers produce the report as "Report.txt" but this single server is "Untitled Attachement". We use Outlook 2003.
I cant find anywhere to change it, only thing could be a corrupt mailbox management script, I'd be removing and recreating a fresh one, but even then you don't get to name the file...
How would I recreate a new script? It worth to try.
in Exchange system manager, under recipients, recipient policies, right click in the right hand pane and select new -> policy and select the 'mailbox manager settings' option, give it a name and leave the options as default, only thing is to ensure you check the box for sending the report to someone..

Same attachment name.
The receip policy applies to all servers, and only one gives this strange attachment name.
then do you have some third party software on this one?

AntiVirus, antispam or the like...
Today I discovered something strange:
I accessed my email from OWA and found that the attachment name is "Report.txt", the same mail if accessed from Outlook shows the attach as untitled attachment!!!!!!
I forwarded the mail to my yahoo account in Yahoo it also untitled attachment!!!!!!

Yahoo receives all attachments as "Untitled". After some tests I am really confused and do not know when is this happening.
I created a test user and on the same machine I created a new Outlook profile and the attachment is received as "report.txt".
I opened my account from another machine and the report is "Untitled attachment"
I forwarded the mail from the test user to myself and it came "Untitled Attachment"

Initially it sounds like a corrupt profile, however testing your account from another machine usually rules that out, however you may have roaming profiles and desktop redirection etc, so it may very well be the same profile..

If you create another profile, was it accessible from the other machine?
Only My documents is "Roamed", nothing else.
I did not understand what you mean by:
If you create another profile, was it accessible from the other machine?
If you don't have roaming profile, then maybe your mailbox is corrupt?

Integrity check?
Accessing the mailbox from OWA shows the attachment as "Report.txt".
oops, I mean profile is corrupt, sry..

So I'd start a fresh profile and copy the relevant settings over, or configure from scratch..

Give the points to subsun, I think the safe mode would have worked too, although not a perm fix.

outlook should be open in safe mode before you receive the email with txt attachment.
This is what I did.
Once you receive the attachment in outlook, Does the same attachment in OWA shows as txt file?
