Hi

Using http://www.emoreau.com/Entries/Articles/2006/09/Feeding-Crystal-Reports-from-your-application.aspx which gives agood base to crystal and .net

Have added xsd file and added to crstal report draged on the feilds and all worked well

then I had to update the xsd file with extra feilds - this file is attached to vs project and when opened could see new fields

but although in crystal report - updated database and did a reconnection could not get crystal to show extra new feilds in table list

any ideas please?

have you tried Crystal Reports -> Database -> Verify Database option as explained in http://www.emoreau.com/Entries/Articles/2006/10/Crystal-Reports--Part-II.aspx

Thanks very much for pointing to me your article - (I'm sure I will also use exporting soon and it has saved a lot of time for me already) but I did try that and it didnt work

although only difference is I overwrote it with new file rather than do change by hand

it should work. sometime, you need to close your solution and re-open it before CR can see that the XSD was modified.

The verify database feature is how Crystal updates its copy of the database structure.  If that doesn't work then there is another issue.

Can you build a new report and see the new fields?

Thanks for your help - it was a cache issue - had to make another new connection to same xsd before new structure could be seen
