Hello experts.
I have a lto2 backup tape that has data on it written by Backup Exec for Windows.
Now i only have access to this tape with linux. The Windows containing the backupsoftware is not longer available due to a hardware problem.
Is there a way to restore some of the data with linux?
Thanks a lot.

I don't think the format will be useful under Linux. Why don't you just setup a temporary windows PC and install BE on it?
BE uses MTF (Microsoft Tape Format) which is not 'officially' supported within *nix.

However, I do believe there are some programs that will read MTF under Linux - for example,

     http://linux.softpedia.com/get/Utilities/mtftar-7101.shtml

I haven't tried either of these, so I can't vouch for them.
