Outlook 2003 consistently enters "not responding" & displays multiple sessions

I am running MS Outlook 2003 on a Windows XP Home Edition computer with 1 GB RAM.

The problem is that whenever I open Outlook it freezes; then I check Windows Task Manager and usually find that 2 "Microsoft Office Outlook" tasks are running, and both of them not responding. I am also using Google Calendar Sync plugin, two POP3 email accounts, and the plugin from Microsoft to view hotmail email in Outlook (since hotmail does not support POP3).

An additional interesting fact is that this doesn't always happen.  1/10th of the time I can successfully open Outlook.  And when it successfully opens it only displays one "Microsoft Office Outlook" task.  Unfortunately, it often takes several hours to finally get Outlook to open.

Thank you!

I would start with seeing if you have the latest ms office updates

and then run a registry cleaner like ccleaner
If the above doesn't help - I would disable both the plugins and check - then enable one at a time.
