Windows Sidebar Feeds Not Updating

At the end of June, the MSNBC News Feed in my Windows Sidebar stopped updating. I still see the 100 headlines leading up to the end of June 30th, but nothing new.

I'm not aware of anything that changed on my end to cause this -- I certainly didn't do anything with Sidebar or RSS -- and if I go into RSS Feeds/MSNBC News in Outlook I see the very latest headlines are being downloaded so if Sidebar uses the standard Windows RSS transport that's not the problem.

Anyone else see this behavior? Any suggestions to get the widget back on track?

Hi

A suggestion would be to remove the feed from your sidebar list and add it back in.  I don't know if anything changed with the feed or not, but doing this should get the new one, or the same old one, going again.

Do this and get back with the results.  We'll go from there.
MIne is doing the same thing. I removed it and added back and it's still not working?

Actually, I just noticed that as well. When I added it back, it polled the latest articles but hasn't updated since then (although, again, the articles in Outlook's RSS Feeds section are updating correctly).

Whatever was causing the problem must have been on their side. Sometime in the past 24 hours the widget started working again.

Or maybe it was a reboot on my part?

In any event, it's up to date now. Who know for how long?

Well ..

Let's keep an eye on it for awhile.  I'll certainly keep an eye out for any mention.  You let me know if additional problems arise.

Have fun.
