Database mirroring monitor mirroring state
Hi Folks,
I have SQL 2005 mirroring happening
the mirroring state + current role of my databases in database mirroring monitor for the mirror says not connected, the principal says synchronized. I actually failed over a database to check if it has recent data transferred and it seems it does. To setup mirroring I needed to so this via T-SQL rather than the mirroring wizard as the wizard could not see the partner I was connecting to. On the mirror in db mirror monitor it is also saying not connected. The partner are on different networks through a firewall - which seems to not be the problem because the failover seems to be ok. What is going on?

no I don't
The two servers must be talking a bit, because the principal thinks they're synchronized. But it definitely seems strange that the mirror doesn't think so.
If you turn the mirror off (stop the service perhaps), does the principal realise and change its status?

Do you have multiple SQL instances on the mirror server?
