How do I connect to the Internet/APN using a Siemanns MC75 modem?

Hi there,

I have been trying to get an MC75 Sharkpod modem to connect ot the internet. I can get it to send sms', but I can't get it to connect to the internet - or APN.

I have set up an internet connection using windows, and it connects fine. I used a port sniffer(HHD Software Device Monitoring Studio 5.22) to view the AT Commands that windows sends to the modem. But, when I use those commands in hyperterminal, It tells me that there is no carrier.

I have also tried using 'AT+CGDCONT=1,"ip","internet"' with no success.

Is there a command that I am missing? If I am completely wrong, could someone please give me an example of the commands needed?

The attached commands are the commands that I am using in HyperTerminal, and they are the same ones that I got off the port sniffer.

Thanks so much for your help in advance.

This command is just the definition of the PDP context, you still need to attach the GPRS modem if it does not attach by itself and then activate the PDP context
so try this sequeance, assuming internet is avalid APN for the SIM card you are using, meaning you paid your GPRS data service.
AT+CGDCONT=1,"ip","internet"'
AT+CGATT=1
AT+CGACT=1

Hi,

Tried that but still not managed to have any luck.  I still get no carrier errors.

Windows must be doing something at it not an AT command..

I am programming on .NET 3.5  and managed to find this http://dotras.codeplex.com/

It allows the creation of a Dial up and allows dialing automatically using RAS in Windows,  so I have abandoned the AT commands in favour of this.

Thanks for the help though.
