go to start- >run ->mstsc
then once it opens, next to the word (Remote Desktop Connection) you should find an icon on the left of the title, click it and choose about.

thanks,

it also applies to vista by the way :)
- Open an Explorer windows to C:\Windows\System32
 - Locate the file "mstsc.exe"
 - Right-Click on the file and choose Properties
 - Click on the Version tab
This should tell you what version of Remote Desktop Connection you have.
Hope this helps.
