Custom built PC does display a picture when powered on

Hi,

I have just assembled the PC. The specs are as follows:
1. Gigabyte GV-R465OC-1GI - Gigabyte GV-R465OC-1GI Radeon HD 4650 1GB ATX DVI-I Graphics Card
2. Corsair CMPSU-550VXUK - Corsair VX 550W Power Supply
3. AMD HDZ940XCGIBOX - PHENOM II X4 940 3.0GHZ BLACK SKT AM2+ 8MB 125W PIB
4. Lite-On DH-4B1S-06C - DVD BLU-RAY R/RW/DL/RAM SATA
5. Asus 90-MIB5D0-G0EAY00Z - M3N72-D AM2+ NF750A ATX VGA+SND+GLN+1394 HT5200 SATA2R IN
6. Hitachi HDP725050GLA360 - DESKSTAR P7K500 500GB SATA-II  
7. Corsair TWIN2X4096-8500C7 - Corsair 4096MB Memory

When I turn it on the screen does not display anything. The connection can not be established.
Other components seem to be working ok. I tried VGA port and HDMI to DVI converter. No luck.

Have you tried removing evrything except what you need? IE: CPU, Video card, and maybe 1 ram stick or no memory just to test it to see if you can get the Bios to post?

I was so ungry that I did do as you suggested. I managed to get into BIOS and just started Windows install.
