Error 99 is a very generic NDMP error in NetBackup.

Common causes are:
- Wrong pathname specified in the file list (which is usually why you see the NDMP_ILLEGAL_ARGS_ERR in job details)
- The volume may not have enough space available to generate a snapshot; NetApp filers will do a snapshot before starting the backup and if there isn't enough space to create the snapshot and snapreserve isn't turned on, you usually see this error

Check ndmpagent logs on the NetBackup media server that is hosting this filer, also try turning on debug logging on the filer (ndmpd debug 50; debug level depends on how much info you want... I usually try 30, 50 or 70), and then mount /etc from the filer and look at /etc/log/ndmpdlog.<date>.

Great thanks for your help - the problem was the path name was wrong.  When whoever setup out storage they did not keep the volume name and the share name the same.  So I was using the share name not the correct volume name.  I switched to the volume name and it seems to be working - Thanks again
