Stop Excel Calculation in Mid Calc

Sometimes I have a large spreadsheet open and already set to manual calculation in Excel but the calculation is taking so long that I want to interrupt it.  If I hit F9 and start the calc in Excel is there anyway to stop the calculation once it gets going?

I'm already aware that if you have Excel set to auto calc you can type in the spreadsheet and the calc will stop but that is not the case when the manual calc is set and used in Excel.

Hello smashburger,

Did you try pressing the ESC button the application is doing the calculation? It should stop the calculation.

I believe any key will halt the caclulation at spreadsheet level, i tend to use the up and down arrows as they generally cause little damage. It may take a little while for it to actually halt the calculation for heavy calculations.
Hi,

I personally believe this has been satisfactorily answered by myself & spattewar, can the points not be split?

Kind regards

Mike
Hi,

I personally would split the points equally between posts:

24898786
24915557

The reason for this is purely that I believe both posts answer the question "How do i stop Excel Calculating".

I'm happy to leave it to your judgement though and would have no issues if you took option 2 but think it would also be fair to split them.

Kind regards

Mike
Many thanks for this.

Kind regards

Mike
