Can spyware infect a system that is using norton 2009, just installed after a complete clean up with Malware bytes, SuperAntiSpyware, Spybot.  Can it get infected and open many internet sites such as porn.com, viragra.com etc or does someone have to go to a site like that to get it started.  And if so how can you protect yourself against it?

While there is still no full-proof way to avoid spyware, your best bet is to have an additional program running alongside norton such as lavasofts ad-aware (http://www.lavasoft.com/products/ad_aware_free.php). This is a free program and updates regularly giving you peace of mind :)

The best bit of software I have used is regtool (google), as it allows me to re-register all my activex files and basically gets my computer running up to 'as new' condition.

Good luck

I do realize that we need good sypware scanners as well as virus protection but my question is is there spyware out there that would load porn.com and may other auto opening adult sites even if you were not looking at such stuff?
In all the years I've been using computers I have only ever once experienced a malware problem with things popping up, it's similar to a virus except it jst annoys... Thy normally spread through dodgy websites (websites set up so it installs stuff on ur computer). You dnt have to visit porn.com to get a malware program that pops that up.

If it's peace of mind you want then jst make sure u have an anti-malware program running and it updates regularly, it's all windows has :/
