moving a hard drive on windows 2000
i have a 2k system MB fried and the software on it is important and can not installed user has lost the cd to this custom app so i have no choice but to restore it so anyone ?

to be clear a workstation/server with OS windows 2000
where the mother board fried and
there was an app on this workstation the user was using this app and it is a custom app and there is no installer for this app so i need to move the hard drive which is in tact. so to get to my question I wanted to move the hard drive to a new workstation and I was wondering if there is a proper way to move the HD over to the new workstation (for windows 200)

Convert it to VM:

With 2000 Os, I bet the motherboard is old enough that you can not find identical one for replacement. Could you please list your motherboard type here?
