Email when disk quota warning

Is there a way the server can automatically send an email to a user when they reach the warning level?

We are using the default windows quota....thing....

The user gets a windows popup message, considering it an interactive operation usually.

If you wanted email, you'd need some kind of monitoring, since the only thing windows gives us is the event log..

So in the end, some kind of event log monitoring system is required.

If you have W2k3 R2, you can install the FSRM component and define quotas there. This allows emails out of the box:
