I have a Blackberry Bold 9000, using BIS.
My Blackberry browser has only four search engine options in the default opening page. One of those options is Google, but it is not Google Mobile, so does not display nicely.
Can I/how do I change the search options in my Blaclberry Bold's Browser?

I'm not aware of a way to change the options, but make sure you are set to blockberry emulation mode in browser configuration.  Mine is readable, but agreed it is not an ideal display.

There is a search app for BB which formats a bit more nicely and is a bit more dynamic:

Thanks, I have the Google App, but don't see an option for Blackberry emulation.
I have an option for Blackberry identification, but that is simply for javascript identification to web pages (I think).
I have set Google Mobile as my home page, but that involves loading two pages for one search.
The Google App will have to be the solution if I can't find any other.
Thanks.

Right- identification is emulation on the Bold, but it can determine which version of the page loading you are receiving for adaptable sites.

Is there any particular issue with the display of the site?

Mainly just size. I found that certain elements of the display overlapped, preventing me clicking on the first link when in Column view.

There are some other browsers, like opera, that you could try.  BB browser is arguably the biggest weakness of BlackBerry.  You may want to try fiddling with other settings in the browser options, but I think the issue is more that the google search built into the browser is not routing through mobile.

Not sure if there's a solution for this, other than posting this on the RIM support forum and maybe someone at RIM will see the issue and get the point:

The solution unfortunately was that there is no solution to the given problem, but a workaround, and a process of communication with the responsible company was recommended.
