Problem with partitioning on HP DL380 running SCO openserver 5.0.7

I have a problem whereby I have loaded the 'july 2005 recut' CD onto a HP DL380 G4 with 2 mirrored drives with 2 hot spares. As is usual during the install - It only saw the 1st 'drive' . It was partitioned equally into 2 36G partitions - the 1st being active /dev/rhd00 & the 2nd inactive /dev/rhd01.

The install was completed, then the ciss.btld loaded. This enabled the 2nd drive to be 'seen' as ls0. My problem is changes in 'disk1-partition1' /rhd00 are reflected in /rhd01. That is, if the divvy command is run in one of them - it affects the other...The 2nd 'drive' is unaffected as it only 1 partition.  Why is this so & how do I stop it??

You have to use SmartStart to install SCO on ProLiant. That is not supported for some blades and few others.
Other solution is VMWare ESX(i)

SmartStart post 5.5 no longer supports assisted installs.... for SCO......One has to

Set up the array/s as required manually

then

Load SCO 5.0.7 (best to use the july 2005 recut)

Load MP's as required

....Then I struck the weird mirroring error

m/c DL380 2G ram 6i on board raid controller ciss.BTLD from EFS_5_79, firmware 8.30( the latest..)

VMWare of any form is not an option :-(

VMWare is only option then. Sorry for disapointment. Your OS is legacy or worse.
The Proliant DL380 G4 is certified by SCO to run 5.0.7.  I have installed several of these with no problems.

Hi
The DL380 is definitely certified, but unless you have a need to divide each array into 2 partitions, you won't know of the problem...
