Access Add a Landscape Subreport to a Portrait Main Report

I have a main report that is in Portrait orientation and want to add a linked subreport that is in Landscape orientation.  The end result is it will be saved as one PDF file and emailed to a client, and I really need it to be one document rather than two.  Any suggestions?

I'm proficient at VBA so if there a way to accomplish it with code I'm open to the suggestion.

Thanks,
Joan

I imagine if your report, which you embed in a subreport control, is laid out in Landscape, if you precede the placement of the subreport control with a PageBreak control, that should force a new page and the subsequent layout of the subreport in Landscape should happen automatically.  To start with, I would place an new PageBreak control after the subreport so the on-going portion of the main report is given a change to reset the Portrait properties.

If you need the end result to be a pdf file, have you considered running the output of both reports to pdf then merging the results ?

Try the solution found in the fol post, it may work for you if your current approach does not wrk.

jrogersok,

Or just make both reports Landscape, thus avoiding the need to do all this jerking around to get it to work...

When I embedded the subreport after a page break and the subreport was set to landscape, it still printed portrait.

I decided to create a new report that is portrait and squeezed the data together.

Thanks for all your input, everyone; I appreciate the link regarding combining PDF's programmatically -- just might be able to use that on anothe project.
