Experts,
I need to use the following code, in an outline of one database that points to another database. However, I want the view to open IN the frame (called NotesView) and I can do this when I paste the view in from another database, but when I try this code, the outline properties, in the content / frame box does not allow a value (I can't type in 'NotesView' when using formula as the TYPE in the CONTECT section.

Is this possible?  Please help!  Thanks

Just reviewed my post and want to make sure I was a little more clear.  The formula is put in the outline property -- using "formula" and not link.  If I use "link" I can then type the "NotesView" value in the frame option, but when I select "formula" the frame value box is disabled and I cannot type in the NotesView (name of frame) that I want my view to appear, from another database.

Why don't you use Named element as a type?
Then you can select any database, view and a frame.

The code I am trying to use allows the link to be somewhat dynamic if the database(s) needed to be moved to another server. If I use the named element option, will I have a problem with the link if the database moved to another server, so long as the other databases are placed in the same directory on that server?
Commented:
Yes you will, but instead of name/path you can use db replicaID in the field 'Formula for database'.

This info was helpful for me to understand going forward and it does have its use for other applications.  I was able to apply another solution that worked and did not break my link if the database moved (it was a web designed solution).  I appreciate your help in any event.
