I have a function, the outline of which is defined in the code section below.  It takes  a MemoryStream which has been compressed using GZip.

I know how to recreate the datatable using DataTable.ReadXML(stream As System.IO.Stream)
Im not sure how to decompress my memorystream though.  Any help?

This page has a decompress function, which takes a string. You should be able to convert this in seconds, by just reading the entire stream into a string. There are probably other ways to accomplish this, as well.
