I exported my email amd messages from Windows Mail to Contact - Under "Personal Folders", there's a folder named "Imported Folders", which is also under "Local Folders".  This are dulpicate folders - if I delete one of the "Imported Folders", will that delete the other "Imported Folder"?  See attached

SInce a few hours have passed since the Q was raised i'll take a stab.  I was hesitant to respond earlier since I do not know the facts!

First off I suggest you copy the PST just in case ... it does no harm.

Go into each folder and check the number of items.  Now go into one of the two folders and copy an email, if the folders are linked then both will have the same number of mail items.   Just to be sure in the 'other' folder re-order the folder and double check for the presence of the duplicate.

If there is no sign of the duplicate then try deleting a different email (i.e. one copy only) if it's still there in the other mailbox then as a last gasp check, close outlook then re-open, does the other folder still differ from the first one:

1. One copy of the duplicated email only
2. No copy of the deleted email.

If so then I think you can safely delete the folder.

- is there any way to export from Windows Mail the "email addresses and messages" without it showing as "imported folders"?

For future reference ... can I ask is it the case then that the two folders were independant?
