Wsus Client Download Updates issue
Hi,
Setup a wsus server on 2k3 with no major issues. Can see the clients fine in the console and everything seems ok. Setup the bits and bobs in GP for the timings etc and that seems to also be working. I noticed however the updates do not appear to be applying. I just get the little yellow shield stuck at 0% and then it disappears on the client. Occasionally it comes back again, presumably on a retry but same thing.
Have googled this death and done all things I can find to no avail. The log file below shows the specific error the clients are generating which seems to be major cause :-
DnldMgr Error 0x8024401f occurred while downloading update; notifying dependent calls.
Have seen lots of reference to proxy type issues but have bypassed both test client and indeed the wsus server out of ISA and still get the issue. IIS seems ok, permissions seem ok etc. Just wondered if anyone else has seen this and may be able to help?
Thanks,
Andrew

ASKER
Hi,
Yep check the firewall settings and ran the SCW ensuring anything related to WSUS was allowed through. No port reference in the GPO, as it is just running off 80, so don't believe I have to specify?
Checked all the traversing etc. As advised in the KB mentioned and unforunately no luck either unfortunately. Am battling on, and will keep posted with any developments.
Thanks.
