Can 2003r2 DFS replicate a database

We have 2x 2003r2 servers on same LAN replicating folders.

My testing replicates Home Directories, Roaming Profiles, Staff Shared Folders and even our School Database (Omnis7).

I have read that all of the above might not be recommended.
There are only a few users currently testing, but all is replicating fine, but next week school starts and then hundreds of users will be on.

My main worry is regarding the database, can it be safely replicated?
Or could I use DFS to replicate the database to Server2 but only access the data share on Server1, that way if Server1 does fail I could just point the users to the database on Server2?

Any experienced comments or suggestions are welcome.

Thank you

Craig
