What's the code you're using to unlink and re-upload?

Does resizing the image means re-uploading the image?? <br />

i am uploading and resizing the images. there is 1 confusion going in my mind.<br />
suppose i have uploaded 1. jpeg image as thumbnail and the size of the image was given by user say100*100. original image was 1200*1200. now when the user wants to upload that image with the size 50*50. then the problem i am facing is that since that image is already upload with size 100* 100 , so it does not upload that image with the size 50*50.<br />

so i decided to unlink the image and then re upload it with the user defined size.but then the image does not get unlinked.
