Hi, I was curious if its possible for vmware to detect nic cards and bring them down if required.<br />

Eg, our esx hosts has a linux vm machine on each. There is a ethernet cable between both and a cross over to monitor heart beat traffic.<br />
<br />
What we want to do is in the event that the heart beat traffic link failed, the vm or the linux box automatically brings down the primary ethernet card (eth0). <br />
<br />
The reason we need this is because if the heart beat link goes down, the standby vm server will become the active server and we don't want that.<br />
