Windows 2008 WINS & DNS Replication

I have a single domain WIndows 2008 AD domain with three AD servers all of which run DNS and WINS. My DNS in AD integrated... I have the following questions

1) All of my WINS servers are set up for push/ pull replication. I have left all of the default settings in place for replication. How often do replication happen?

2) FOr WINS if ServerA is my HUB WINS replicatino server is it correct to list servers B&C as replication partners for WINS A? Is this the correct configuration?

3) How often does Windows 2008 scavenage the WINS DB?

4) Does Win2k8 have and utiity to help me monitor my WINS replicatoin ...What about monitoring DNS replicaton????

# 1. Regarding the convergence time, see http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc786754(WS.10).aspx

# 2. Correct.

# 3. I am not aware if it does. It was pain in 03 anyway and never fully scavenged as supposed to.

# 4. Network Monitor for Netbios traffic is your best bet.

Question.

Why did you decide to go with WINS over GNZ ?

In 08, WINS has been demoted from a role to a feature. Flat name resolution finally has a solution in terms of GNZ without the need of WINS. I would opt to remove/reduce my WINS infrastructure.
And if your DNS zones are AD integrated, then they replicate with AD, monitor your AD replication to monitor the DNS replication.

OK here is one thing that I noticed for my WINS replication...All servers are on the same LAN

For WINS replicatoin for server B & C they only have server A listed as a replication parter... on Server A both servers B&C listed. Yet when I force a replication to all partners I get a wins replication error to server B??????????

How can I monitor my AD replication?
Check the link I posted for WINS.

For AD replication, you can use repadmin

run

repadmin /replsum
I'm sorry..I'm not that great in AD and found the link a little confusing....Please help

WINS is outdated for a Windows 2008 Server environment and not needed.

Dcdiag is also a good tool to run to check the health of the server and environment the server runs in.
I understand but why is it when I have both servers B &C listed under replication partners for my hub server A causes replication errors to server B??

I need WINS due to old applications that run in my enviroment
PLease .. please .. please help
I just ran a pack trace and I'm seeting a lot of the following errors messages between my servers..

 NB-NAME  R ID=59048 STAT=Name Error
but I'm only getting these errors between two of my servers not all of them???????
BTW...in EVENT View in 2k8 how can I tall when a "SUCCESSFUL WINS REPLICATION ACCURED"???
Are the B and C across a router?
yes...
my network person has already checked the router though and nothing is being blocked
Also on my "HUB" and problem WINS server I enabled verbose logging. On my hub server I have a number of Event ID 4343 error message :

The WINS server noticed chance of duplicate name registration from X.x.x.x. address for the Node WD
When I search wins I search the hub wins server I do not see any duplicate enteries. I'm not getting ANY 4343 errors on my problem wins server though???

Thanks but I have already verified that my router is not blocking anything..

I have done the following..

I removed my problem server as a replication partner
and have uninstalled wins from this server as well.
Right now all errors have stopped
I'm waiting for things to full propogate then I'm going to reinstall wins tomorrow.
