problem with setup.com /prepareschema

I'm working on setting up and Exchange 2007 server and ran into the following problem.

Preparing Exchange Setup
No server roles will be installed
Performing Microsoft Exchange Server Prerequisite Check
    Organization Checks              ......................... FAILED
The Active Directory schema will be upgraded if you continue. Verify that the o
rganization is ready for Exchange 2007 by running the Exchange 2007 Readiness Ch
eck, which is part of the Exchange Best Practices Analyzer.
Setup needs to contact the Active Directory schema master but this computer
is not in the same Active Directory site as the schema master (Default-First-Si
te-Name).
Setup encountered a problem while validating the state of Active Directory:
No domain controllers for the domain postal and the site SouthCounty are availa
ble.
The Exchange Server Setup operation did not complete. For more information, visi
t http://support.microsoft.com and enter the Error ID.
Exchange Server setup encountered an error.

My new server, postoffice, is on the domain. I'm not sure what to look at to see why it thinks that there isnt a domain controller available.

Please let me know if there are details I need to provide to help.

Thanks in advance!

This is a known issue if you are installing exchange in the child domain and the schema master role is held by one of the DC's in the root domain.......Is this the case ? If yes then there are only 2 options ;
1. Run setup with the switches /preparead ,/preparealldomains ,/prepareschema.
2.Temporarily move the schema master role to one of the DC's in the child domain where we are installing the Exchange Server.........

We are all one domain. Postal.local. /prepareschema is where i copied the error from. I was following a book and did /preparelegacyexchangepermissions which was fine then I ran /prepareschema.

As per the error it seems that your Scema Master is in the site Default First Site Name......Do we have a DC / GC in the site SouthCounty where you are trying to install exchange? We require at least one DC / GC local to the site where you are installing the server.....
I started with Experts Exchange in 2004 and it's been a mainstay of my professional computing life since. It helped me launch a career as a programmer / Oracle data analyst

Yes, I'm at the SouthCounty location and it is where both DC's are located.

our Primary DC/GC is in an the OU Domain Controller. South County is in a n OU underneath the Sites OU. So its looks like this:

Postal
  |
  |_Domain Controllers
  |
  |
  |_Sites
       |
       |_SOuth County

Hope that makes sense

Also, I ran dcdiag on the primary dc/gc and everything passes.

I see what you mean now. The server primary2003 shows up under default first site and is the GC. Primary2003 also shows up under SouthCounty as a server. So I guess my question now is what happens if I move primary2003 to the SouthCounty site? We have a second DC/GC that is in default first site also called applications......we have a super fun naming scheme for our servers don't we!!
