How do I install the GP 9 client?

Hi,

You say that you were trying to "execute the install files", but I see that you already have a GP 9 icon and Integration Manager icon on the desktop, and the message seems to imply that an upgrade was being installed, so I just want to make sure I understand the issue.

Were you trying to install a service pack?

Can you send me a screen shot of your Dynamics GP 9 Help --> About window, and also send me a screen shot of the "install files" you were trying to launch?

The error in your screen shot can occur if you were trying to install a Dynamics GP 9 service pack.

Please refer to KB Article 920827 on PartnerSource or CustomerSource for an explanation of causes and solutions for the error.

Here are the 4 possible causes that the article lists:

Cause 1
This problem occurs because of issues in some Microsoft Windows Installer registry entries that are a part of the current installation of Microsoft Dynamics GP.

This problem occurs because you apply an older service pack to an instance of Microsoft Dynamics GP 9.0, and a newer service pack is already applied to another instance of Microsoft Dynamics GP 9.0.

This problem occurs if you install hotfix rollup 924834 to an instance of Microsoft Dynamics GP 9.0 that has the July tax updates for Canadian Payroll already applied.

This problem occurs if you install an English language service pack on a translated instance of Microsoft Dynamics GP. This problem also occurs if you install a translated service pack on an English language instance of Microsoft Dynamics GP.
