Hi guys, I have a 2003 SBS Running Exchange Server and I am having a strange issues with two accounts on the server. I have setup a Security Group-Global for Office@wamalaw.com. I then ladded everyone I wanted to recieve email from this address. It has worked perfect until about a week ago. I have Arcadier@wamalaw.com and one other account that will only recieve spam on this account, but will not recieve email from anyone from the outside or from anyone locally on the network. The thing that has me pulling my hair out is that he is receiving spam but not mail. This is the error message I recieved when I try to send him mail. Everything I read says to add a SMTP Connector...I do have a SMTP connecter installed. Any help would be great.

are those email addresses correct on the user in active directory?
is your server configured to get mail direct or does it pop from the isp?
do these accounts have forwarding on in active directory, or a rule to forward to someone else?

Hi,
All the address are correct in AD, and yes Arcadier@wamalaw has several other accounts being forwarded to his account. The Server Runs Exchange 2003 and is setup to Recieve email...
wolfcamel
no i mean is mail being forwarded from his account to elsewhere?
no mail from his account is not being forwarded to anywhere
wolfcamel
sending a test email so i can look at the header of any message that bounces back. I received a delivery receipt.
so it thinks it went through.
did you/he get it?
if not then my gues is a rule -
hopefully not corrupt rule - although i am sure someone in here will know how to check/resolve because i dont

is their mail being popped somewhere else - to a phone or to a home account.
change their password to see if it stops things.
no the mail is not bein popped anywhere...I can see the mail sitting on the server, it is just not being deliverd to his mail box

HELP!!!! :)
wolfcamel
sorry - had paying work to do
so you can see it in the local delivery queue on the server?
have you restarted the exchange services at all? is exchange service packed up?
do you have an antispam product running? have you tried turning it off? is this user in a whitelist/blacklist of the product?
can this user receive emails direct or is the problem only when they are sent to the group?
I will try restarting the services, not sure what you mean about packed up?.....no antispam on the sever he is a lawyer and afraid he will miss a email :)....I check the blacklist and they are fine....and yes he can recieve email on his main account pefectly....the problem is only when the mail is sent to the group office@wamalaw.com....other then that everything works fine...like I said I can send and email to that address then do a seach for arcadier@wamalaw.com and I see the mail sitting in the que.

i mean service packs - exchange should be service pack 2 - it wont get done with normal windows updates, you can check by right clicking on the server in exchange system manager, properties will tell you.
is it a security group or distribution group? i dont know why it should matter but i read another post that suggested security group - although i would have thought distribution group was what this was intended for.

yes it has all the serverice packs and is up to date
Ok I created an office2@wamalaw.com first I did a universal and it worked then i changed it to global and it too worked...now the only difference I see between office and office2 is when you click properties and look at Memer Of...in the office it has listed
Name:Office Active Directory Folder:Wamalaw.local/MyBusiness/User/SBSuser
Now when I go to office2 that I just created it has nothing listed in the Member of Tab and when I try to list office2 in the tab it tells me a group cannot be made a meber of itself...if this is the case how the heck did office get it listed? I am wondering if I should just remove it and see :) or just say the heck with it all and delted the account and recreate the whole thing ? ANy Advice on this ? Thanks again for all your help
OK I removed office from being a member of itself and change the list to universal and guess what it is all working now :) Thanks again for all your help....

OK I removed office from being a member of itself and change the list to universal and the mail started working again. I suspect office being a member of itself was the problem, because when I removed it the mail started work again.
