I am new to all this....

I install ActiveSync on the server.

Then plug a phone by usb and sync info through the internet (?) ....Is this the way?

I am asking a simplified approach without considering all the rest posssible testing and patches I may have to install to just to get an idea)?
If you have Exchange 2003 Service Pack 2 installed on the server then Activesync is already installed (as part of Service Pack 2).
Then you have to make sure that the server is configured properly - you can follow my FAQ link I posted above to do this.
Once all is in order and the testing site shows that all tests pass - you should be able to configure Activesync on the phone to talk to your server.
Concentrate on the server for now.  Run through my FAQ and if you get stuck anywhere - please come back for guidance.
Once the server is ready - then we can run through what to do on the phone.
ok, I will do that.
Fingers crossed - I'm around for about another hour - then time for some sleep.  Shout if you need me.
I probably won't get to it tonight so sleep well I will comment tomorrow, thanks.
No worries - will await some news when you have some.
