What size hard drive can i upgrade to

Hi, i have Sony Vaio TZ laptop with a 120gb hard drive. I want to upgrade the laptop with a bigger drive but i am not sure what the max size hard drive is that the laptop can handle. Is there any tool that i can run to find out or can anyone  advise on any other way of finding this information out...

(please do not say 2.5" :) lol)

thanks in advance

Have you tried tec support? Thats one of the things there supervisor should know.
The laptop itself doesn't limit you in any way other than form factor and type (SATA or IDE). Disk space size can be however large you want to buy.

Just checked...
This is a relativly new series. The drive is SATA and so the only limit is your imagination (and budget) :)

Also, what is the best hard drive make...
I looks like it is a SATA drive (as expected).
From my experience, the best 2.5" drives are Seagate.
They cost a little more, but the diff is totaly worth it in terms of lifetime.

This is a good choice and also has g-protection like your current drive.
Don't really know why I'm chimming in, looks like everything is solved nicely :)  Just thought I'd say that I used to be very against Western Digital. And I was hugely for Seagate.  While I still really like seagte, I think these days they are all pretty darn good.

Funny I happen to have a dead 2.5" on my desk right now. It is a seagate. The drive I am replacing it with is.... a seagate. For as much as these drives get warm, and from the mild to wild abuse they get being in a mobile device, I think they just have a higher deathrate then their 3.5" relatives. I'd just look for a drive that is the size you want and a good price. The company you deal with for the parts is more important to me these days, and personally I use tigerdirect.com

Just my 2 cents :)
