I am using Arcserver 12.5 on Windows 2008 server R2 with backup agent for open files to take backup of data server. The issue is while the backup is running, the server restarts with a blue screen. If I stop the open file agent service, the backup runs fine and the server does not restart.
I have done all the patch and serice pack updates for both windows 2008 server and Arcserve 12.5. The server which I am using is HP DL 380 G4. Sorage device is HP MSA 2000 connected with fiber channel directly to the server.

This patch is specifically for Win2008 R2. If the server blue screens again, then enable the memory dump on the server and check the driver file responsible for the crash. You can try installing Microsoft Debugging tools and analyse the dump file.
The basic command "!analyze -v" should tell you if there is any driver fault, and will point out the driver which is causing it. If !analyze -v reports ofant.sys as the culprit, then call CA Support and tell them they need to cut down the salary of the team who wrote the Open File Agent... They might give you a Test fix.
Believe me, Ive faced BAOF issues with almost all releases of the service packs in 11.5. GOD I wonder why they still rely on the driver file method, when MS has already given an option to use VSS.
