Migrate mailboxes from a dead Exchange Server in a Diaster Recovery environment
Hi,
We have two exchange servers, one at Head Office (HO) and one at our Disaster Recovery (DR) site. Currently all our mailboxes are on the HO server and there are only a few test accounts on the DR server.
Assuming worse case and that our main site is knocked out, how would I migrate mailboxes between the two?
Is there a better system than the one I am proposing? Can I have dormant mailboxes on the DR server ready to take over?
additional to that sure in DR site you need to have AD , CH (Client Access .Hub Transport servers ) and SMTP server ( standard SMTP or Edge Rule )
Also once something happened in Main Site , you only need to change IP address in your public DNS and it will automatically up and online with latest everythng.

I should have mentioned that we are on Exchange 2003. Sorry.
Best way always is to go for DR site options is to use " Exchange 2007Sp1 which is SCR implementation ".
" SCR Source will be main site Exchange , SCR target will be server in DR site "
please have a look on the Microsoft exchange team to understand that .
