Migrate a domain into another domain with the same Netbios name

We have a domain in another state called itcity1.itic (netbios name = itic) and we have another domain in a different state called itcity2.itic (netbios name = itic).

When attempting to use the ADMT from Microsoft it gives me an error telling me to pick another domain.  I have looked into this and found that ADMT won't migrate or join domains that have the same Netbios name.

Can anyone give me a workaround or tell me about another product which will allow me to migrate these domains?  Quest has a good product, but don't know if having the same Netbios name will be an issue for them as well.  Won't know that until they call in a couple of days.

After researching, I have found that we CANNOT join two domains with the same DNS suffix.

And just for reference the computer names are different, it is the domain names that end in the same.

ITISTC.ITIC - domain name
ITITPA.ITIC - domain name

These are not the computer names.  The computer names are XXX-DC02, and BBB-DC01.

But you are right about the suffix being the same, but I am asking about joining domains.
Like you said, you can not combine the two domains if they have the same DNS suffix.

How many PC's do you have per domain??
Simply put, DNS suffix or Netbios cannot be the same.

Quest has an interesting product and you have to migrate to a staging domain first and then to the final domain.  With their software, there is no downtime associated with migrating the domain.

Thanks for your reply.
