Hello All -
As I administer a few different domains now, more frequently, I am setting up Domain User accounts on different domains that are remote to my location.
In the past when creating one, I'd create the user with a roaming profile, log in as the user on a machine joined to the domain, configure different options, set up their email through Outlook, log off, and change their password to a temporary one making them change it upon logging in.
Is it possible to edit these settings without actually logging in as them? First, I know the answer most will give is group policy and you are right for most of the settings. The problem is really with the email. We use Exchange 2007 and for most offsite people use outlook Anywhere. The really difficult part is autodiscover does not work so all OA settings must be added manually. Perhaps there's a GP plugin that would give similar functionality?
I've tried a couple of things. I do have a VPN connection to each domain so I first have connected the VPN, then found a remote computer that no one was using to RDP to as the user. Problem is that ones not being used are hard to find. I also tried connecting the VPN before logging into Windows to see if I could log in as the user that way, but didn't have any luck.
What do you suggest? - Thanks!
