i would like to know if it is possible to run a script that will check to see if a device is mounted and if  that device is not detected removed the device listing from the machine.
For example - I put a flash drive in the machine. It mounts. I do my stuff and pull the flash drive out.
After some amount of time the drive is still listed when I look in filesystem.
Can this be done without adversly affecting the machine?
