How to start Virtual Machine from ESX host console? Can it be scripted to start when Linux based host boots?

We have several virtualized Windows 2003 servers, including domain controllers on ESX Linux based hosts.

I'm trying to find out how to boot a virtual machine (DC) from the ESX Hosts console should the need ever arise due to a lost power issue or something.

I'm sure it's relatively simple, but we didn't cover it in class and I'm not having a lot of luck finding it anywhere else. Also, is it possible to script it to where the specific Vmachine will boot once the ESX server has booted?

You can, but further research that VMWare best practices advise against auto starting a server that is on a clustered host. Which brings me back to my first question...

How do I start the VMachine once I've logged into the linux based console on the host as root?
