How do I make Iphone only calendar appointments?

My iphone is synced with outlook at work. I have 2 calendars within outlook, one for my work appointments and the other is my iphone calendar.

I now want an option to enter 'Iphone' only appointments. I dont want it showing up on my work outlook. I just want it on my phone.

How can I do this? My friend who has the same set up has done it but cant remember how he did it!!! He gets an Iphone only option!

How do you sync with your Outlook calendar? Via an exchange server? Or do you sync using iTunes?

If you are syncing using iTunes, then both of your Outlook calendars will appear on your iPhone. However, you can specify which calendar is used as the default in

Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars->Default Calendar (at the bottom).

Any appointments made on your iPhone will be placed in this calendar unless otherwise specified. You can specify which calendar an appointment should be in when you create the apppointment, which allows you to vary it from the default.

Hello,

On your iphone, you will have few different calanders you choose from.

If you go to your calander, click the Calanders button on the top left hand corner, it will bring you up with two or more calanders (one is for your exchange /work, one is for your local iphone and there should be one more option that includes both calanders which should be your default).

If you make sure that you select the calander "all from my pc" which should have an orange symbol next to it, inside that calander you can make local iphone only appointments.

You can simply switch between calanders depending on what appointments you wish to make.

Please let me know if you need any further help.

Cheers

the calander selection screen should be something like the screenshot below (it is not the same but simular) as it was the closet screenshot I could find.
With this, basically choose the "home" option instead on viewing "all" or "work".
You can change this back as I have said above for other appointments.

ASKER

Thanks!
I use outlook exchange to sync my calendars. When I bought my phone, I did not sync it with itunes. I did that later after I had set up my exchange.

On my iphone I have 3 calendars
1>All
2> Calendar (which is work) this has a red dot next to it
3>Iphone, this has a orange dot next to it (And was created when I created a calendar called iphone in outlook and it just got synced)

There is no, Iphone only calendar!

Hope this explains my scenario better. I want Iphone only!!

Dalesit, I think this is because I havent synced my calendar through Itunes.  How do I sync through Itunes and hopefully this wont effect my work settings.

Appreciate your help!
