I have a user with a BlackJack 2. The user has Windows Mobile 6.1. The user is all of a sudden unable to sync his email. This has been working fine until yesterday. Everytime he does a sync, he gets a Support code error 85010014 Activesync has encoutered a problem connecting to your server. I have logged into OWA using the users credentials and he connects fine. I'm running out of ideas, Does anyone else have any?

How many Windows Mobile users do you have?
Is this problem affecting them all?
If just this one user, I would either try deleting and re-creating his activesync settings on the phone, or moving his mailbox to another store (if possible).
I have an FAQ on Activesync with Exchange 2003 (if applicable to you) which might be useful:

I have at least 15 Windows Mobile users. No this is only affecting one person.

Okay then I would just delete the account from Activesync and set it up from scratch again.
Start> Programs> Activesync> Menu> Options> Highlight Microsoft Exchange and click Delete.

Delete the account from where? Active sync on his computer? Or delete the account from the server?

I haven't heard from my original user with the sync problem but I just got another user who has been affected with this error.  I deleted his account from his phone and still I get the sync error. I will say that everything else syncs just not the emails. His contacts sync and his calendar syncs. Also i'll note that he was having a problem earlier this morning getting emails. I rebooted his pc and his emails started coming in. However the phone is getting the sync error.

Have you got Host Headers added to the default website?  If you do - that is most likely the problem.  Please remove them.

Where do i go on the phone to remove host headers?

That's done on the server under IIS on the default website properties.

Sorry, I've been a little busy. I have a new twist to the problem. This problem happened with yet another user but here's the kicker. If i set only 1 days worth of emails to come through the phone, it sync's fine. If i change it to 3 days or more, i get the same error. Is this possibly that the phone is running out of space to hold the emails?  Any ideas

I currently didn't dismount the mailstore. However i did go through and have the two affected users clean up their emails. I think the problem stems from them having too many large attatchments in their email. I think the phone was having trouble synching such large files. Once they cleaned up their emails especially with big attachments, the syncronization went through fine. I will award the points to alanhardisty. I did not try alanhardisty's solution but it just may work plus he was the only person who responded to my question so the points are his by default. LOL

Thanks dkwymer - but don't feel obliged to award points to me for a possible solution - you can also accept your own answer as the solution as you have posted what worked for you.
