memory and ram are the same thing, I am going to assume you mean 2gb disk space and 32 megs of ram.

Tinyme linux comes to mind, but that is a very small amount of ram.

savone, I am quite aware what ram is as well as memory.

I just really thought that you geniuses would know what I meant seeing as how I clearly differentiated the two.  In most of the circles Ive been in (Hardware and software support / development) we use the 2 terms interchangeably and due to the huge sizing of HDD's nowadays usually there is a clear distinction of which is which.

I'm trying not to look at your post in an offensive way seeing as how this IS a help forum, but come on man, there is no need to be a geek about it.

Thanks for the post and the reply.  I don't mean to E-bang on you like that, but of it is that obvious...it usually is that way for a reason...
Anyway man, thanks for the post

*walks away with hands in pockets*
I just re-read everything, and I think I should apologize...I shouldn't have put the wrong terminology on there and I am sure you were just trying to help...it seems I was just typing really quickly and it was nothing more than a quick type mis write as we usually referr to HDD space as MEMORY kinda like a recorder... (just not the random access kind ;p )

OK im done...

Do you need a graphical environment or just a text console?

Personally, I use Gentoo, have several text-only installations of servers, and it should be possible to run on your system if you leave the GUI out of it.  I am not familiar with the tiny family of distros, though.

Thanks guys...I tried TinyME and Puppy Linux 4 and it worked fine on our desktops using liveCD but TinyME wouldnt boot LiveCD on the minimalist laptop I referenced earlier.  Ill check out the WIkipedia link.

Thanks again for bearing with me.
