A question about passing files and video/audio

Hey,

I'm trying to make an instant messenger, using Java, a simple google search showed me that there were a lot of chat programs written in java, but for some odd reason none of them had any information on the libraries they used.

These are the libraries I looked at:
java.awt.event
java.awt.image
java.awt.datatransfer
java.beans
java.net
javax.activity
javax.imageio
javax.imageio.event
javax.imageio.stream

But the only thing that even comes close to what I need to do is in javax.imageio.  Are there any other libraries that can handle video/audio chat and file transfer? Or are there special packages that we need to download?

Appreciate any help on this.

Sweet, thanks.

I'm gonna guess transferring a file over a network is about the same as writing it out to a file locally? Except we'll just send a file instead of a message?

Could you please tell me what library deals with audio? I've been looking around after posting the question, but I still haven't found anything good for audio.
