net view access is denied

Can anybody tell me the problem to this?

When I run net view in the command prompt it gives me the message Access Denied!


net view \\

Access is denied.

Can anyone tell me why? And What should I do to enable it. The computer is an XP box.

you may be blocking guest access.....try enabling the guest account on the remote machine...also make sure the win. firewall is off


Why do I need to enable Guess account? As far as I know, net view will still work even the guest account is disabled.

The firewall is off...
Sounds like a premissions issue, add your same user account info to the remote computer and see if that fixes the problem.
