Exchange 2003 Enterprise - EXMerge.exe Issues (2 node cluster)

when archiving disabled users exmerge.exe sometime crashes my exchange server, or fills up the drive that its on, failover to the other node due to exmerge issues with the information store.

We are on SP2

we just want to archive these folks and then get them out of the system.

thanks,

OK, at what point does exmerge crash your exhange server?  Walk me through the process.

Have you created a seperate account for exmerge?  Where are you dropping your PSTs?

I use to kick off exmerge.exe from the X: drive on the corp exch Cluster.  The X: drive was created on the cluster so that I could extract the email data to a PST file there.  Once I selected the Mailbox Store, user, and where to store the PST file, the exmerge process would run.

It was never consistent as to when it would hang.  The only warning that we got that something was wrong was when the server would failover.  Per a suggestion, I started to log into the Node instead of the cluster.  That worked for a short period before the same issue popped up again.

a peer and I believe that there is process that is being locked up by exmerge and that is what is causing the cluster to failover.  The exmerge account works fine with a standalone exchange server we built.  I have never had any issues like this on a stand alone server.

I hope this answer your question.
