I thought this code was pretty simple ... but I'm getting the wrong answer.  Instead of the year 2009, I'm getting 0109 ... and since this app deals with current financial transactions rather than archeological digs, that's not very helpful!

where am I going wrong?

now = new Date();
newDate = new Date(now.getYear(), now.getMonth(), 1); // Tue Oct 01 0109 00:00:00 GMT-0400 (Eastern Daylight Time)
