Ubunto/Linux/Squid Question

I was told by someone I could install Ubunto Sever Edition & I would have an option to install squid during the install. I downloaded Ubunto server v8.04.3 but it didn't have it. It wasn't even a GUI. I know nothing about linux but need to install squid....can someone tell me which one of the OS installs will give me the option to install squid as part of the OS installation & also have a GUI?

Is there any way to configure squid after the install? I was told I just install it & point clients to it after I have the web filtering software set up...is it that simple??? It sounds to good to be true.
question not fully answered
Sure, you normaly configure your system after installation. Debian based system have the configuration files at /etc/squid/...

The documantation for this can be found here
http://www.squid-cache.org/

I hope the question is now fully answered (by the way: your question did not contain any word about configuration and for answering your second comment you should give some time before rating the answer with B).
